Jeyaraj Neville Dharshan alias Panchikawatte Neville was arrested with several weapons by the Colombo Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) today at Jampettah Street, Colombo this evening, Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said.
He said the suspect was arrested at 2.00 p.m today at a housing complex with a browning hi-power pistol, two Magazines and with two live ammunition.
At the time of arrest, the police found two kilograms of cannabis in his possession. Later, the suspect was handed over to the Slave Island Police, he said.
The CIB is conducting further investigations. The spokesman said the police would obtain a detention order for further questioning of the suspect.
