A Pakistani Naval ship is scheduled to arrive at Colombo port on a four-day visit from November 5 as a goodwill port call and to further strengthen the bilateral relations with Sri Lanka, the Pakistan High Commission today said.

During its stay, the ship PNS SAIF is scheduled to undertake a number of activities including professional interactions, sports and training sessions as well as a reception on November 06.

In a statement, the High Commission said Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) SAIF is a SWORD class F22P Frigates of Chinese origin.

It is equipped with state of the art weapons, sensors and machinery, making it capable of undertaking a variety of maritime operations.

Referring to the relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka, the High Commission said bilateral relations between the two nations are multifaceted.

“There is a great deal of commonality in their culture and tradition. Contemporary relations are characterized by mutual trust, credibility, understanding and good will at all levels,” it said.
