The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has declined to approve the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) demand management program as it violates and affects the Advanced Level (A/L) Examination.

PUCSL Chairman Janaka Rathnayake said the CEB's demand management program is directly helping to violate the rights of 331,000 students sitting for the exam.

This response was issued soon after the CEB's announcement.

As a result, the CEB announced yesterday that they will continue the demand management program during the A/L Exam.

It was also mentioned that the CEB had informed the PUCSL about this yesterday. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
