The Northern Provincial Council was to prepare a document containing its plans to develop the province which in turn will be presented at the doner summit to be organised by the Japanese government in Tokyo soon.

This decision was made at a meeting Northern Province Chief Minister C V Wigneswaran had with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe at Temple Trees.

The Chief Minister and two other ministers had presented their development plans for the province to the PM who then instructed the Chief Minister to prepare a single document containing all the development plans so that it could be presented at the summit which was to be held in Japan later this year.

Governor of the Northern Province Reginald Cooray, Minister of Reconstruction and Rehabilitation D. M. Swaminathan, former President Chandrika Kumaratunga and Former Governor of the Northern Province H. M. G. S Palihakkara have also been present at the meeting. (Yohan Perera)
