The main opposition today questioned the impartiality of the final report of the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) appointed to look into Easter Sunday attack while Minister Rauff Hakeem, who was a member of the committee, was alleged to have connections with a terrorist group involved in the attack.

UPFA MP Dinesh Gunawardana said it was reported that Minister Hakeem had met those involved in the Easter Sunday attack and as such, an inquiry conducted by a committee, comprising Minister Hakeem would not have allowed an impartial inquiry. He questioned as to how a final report compiled by such a committee was accepted.

Leader of the House Lakshman Kiriella said none of the opposition members opposed to the appointment of Minister Hakeem to the PSC. Minister Hakeem said he would reveal who has really had connections with the said terrorists and added that the proceedings of the PSC was open to media and it was clear that he acted impartially during committee proceedings. UPFA MP Bandula Gunawardane requested for a debate on the PSC report. Leader of the House Lakshman Kiriella agreed to it. (Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)
