No public gathering this festive season, follow existing health guidelines: Sudarshani

Ministry of Health will not allow any public gathering during the Sinhala and Hindu New Year season and urged the public to follow existing health guidelines, State Minister of Primary Health Care, Epidemics and COVID-19 Disease Control Dr. Sudarshani Fernandopulle said.

She said though the number of Covid-19 cases in Sri Lanka is currently low, yet there is a risk of virus spread after the festive season.

The state minister said the third wave of Covid-19 has been reported in some parts of the world.

Mentioning said that the number of Covid patients in India has increased by 62 per cent, Dr. Fernandopulle said the existing security measures should be maintained and there will be no tightening of laws.
