Nihal Ranasinghe has been appointed as the new secretary to the Ministry of Education.
He accepted the letter of appointment from President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat today.
Earlier, Mr Ranasinghe served as the Controller-General of Immigration and Emigration Department.
Padmasiri Jayamanne is the outgoing Secretary to the Ministry of Education.
