Nearly 150 children found tested positive with COVID-19 during the past 10 months, Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children (LRH) Director Dr. G. Wijesuriya said.
When speaking to the Daily Mirror, he said around 80 parents who came to the hospital with their children were found infected with COVID-19.
So far two deaths have been reported and two infants are currently receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Dr. Wijesuriya said.
He requested the parents not to carry or take their children with them everywhere they go and to prevent children from contracting with the external parties.
Also requested parents to visit the nearest hospitals without any delay with their children if they are ill. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
