NTC to execute HRM master plan to enhance public transport

The National Transport Commission (NTC) has decided to implement Human Resource Management (HRM) master plan to enhance customer service in the public transport service.

NTC Director General Commander (Rtd) Nilan Miranda told the Daily Mirror that HRM programme will be conducted with the employees of the transport institutions as the pilot programme.

The similar programme will be assigned to the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) office staffers, drivers and conductors.

"With this programme, drivers, conductors and all employees attached to the transport sector will be benefited such as knowledge how to treat and interact with passengers, to provide a satisfactory service, admired by commuters," NTC Director General said.

Workshops related to this programme will also be conducted free-of-charge, he said.

The programme was organised by the Transport Ministry and the State Ministry jointly partnered by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM). (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
