Muslim MPs meet MR

The Muslim parliamentarians, who recently resigned from their ministerial portfolios, held discussions with former President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the official residence of the former President this morning.
“Met former President and Opposition Leader @PresRajapaksa, a while ago, along with the Muslim Parliamentarians who resigned from Ministerial office, and discussed the reasons for our resignations and reproach #SriLanka,” former Minister and SLMC Leader Rauff Hakeem tweeted after the meeting with the former President.
Accordingly, MPs Rishad Bathiudeen, A. H. M. Fowzie, Mohamed Harees, Ameer Ali and Abdullah Maharoof Mohammadu were among the MPs who attended at the discussions.
On Monday (3) addressing a press conference, all Muslim cabinet, non-cabinet, state, and deputy ministers announced that they would resign from their portfolios.
