The woman arrested over assaulting her 5-year-old child in an inhumane manner, was released on bail by the Attanagalla Magistrates' Court today.
The Pallewela Police had arrested the woman after a video circulated on social media yesterday.
Police said the woman who is a resident of Imbulanwela area in Mirigama had brutally assaulted her five year old child forcing him to apologize to her mother as the child had reportedly kicked his grandmother.
The woman was released on two personnel bail of Rs. 500,000.
The case would be taken up again in court on May 12.
