Mother arrested over missing 4-year-old girl

The mother who confessed to throwing her daughter’s body into the Kala Oya tank after attacking and killing her, was arrested by the police last evening, the police said.

The mother had complained to Saliyawewa Police on January 30, 2019 that her daughter named W.G. Thenuri Thisara had gone missing from home in the Olumadu area, Nilabemma, Saliyawewa.

However, the missing girl's mother, who sought police protection, had made a confession revealing the entire episode of the crime scene.
