Most of the individuals, who tested positive for Covid-19 at the Lady Ridgeway Children’s Hospital in Borella today were detected during the samples taken at the time of admission, Hospital Administration said.
Twenty children and 12 mothers tested positive for Covid-19 today.
They were identified as Covid patients during regular testing.
Hospital Director G. Wijesuriya said that a doctor at the hospital had also tested positive with the virus yesterday.
However, the director said that the doctor had not contracted the virus from the hospital.
The Director said two more doctors who are close contacts of the corona virus positive doctor have also been sent for quarantine.
He assured that there is no need to be unduly afraid to come to the hospital for treatment in this situation and that the medical services are carried out without any hindrance.
“ If any child has an illness, bring them to the hospital before their condition escalates,” he advised.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
