Ministers busy picking presidential candidate: Dayasiri

Most of the government ministers are avoiding parliament and spending time to pick a candidate for the presidential election, UPFA MP Dayasiri Jayasekera told parliament today.

Mr. Jayasekera said this while expressing his displeasure on the absence of ministers to answer oral questions.

“Most of the ministers are absent today as they have gone to attend the rally held by UNP Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa in Kurunegala,” Mr. Jayasekera said.

“The UNP should select a candidate and finish up the drama so that ministers could come to parliament to fulfil their duties,” he added. (Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardana)
