Man who photographed VIPs at Amaradewa's funeral granted bail

The suspect who was remanded over suspiciously behaving and pretending as a journalist at the funeral of veteran musician W.D. Amaradeva at the Independence Square, where the President and other VIPs were present, was ordered to be released on bail by the Colombo Chief Magistrate today.
He was released on a surety bail of Rs. 500,000.

Chief magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya directed his mother to produce the suspect before a specialist doctor within two weeks and submit a report in court.

Earlier, The Magistrate directed the prison authorities to produce the suspect before a JMO to conduct a medical test over his mental condition, but the report is still pending.

The CCD told court that there were no any suspicious evidence found from the possession of the suspect, and that the prosecution suggests a possible mental disorder of the suspect. (Shehan Chamika Silva)
