Man who attacked a disabled soldier at Galle Face identified as ruggerite Sajith Saranga- CID

The CID has informed court that the person who attacked a disabled soldier, which was circulating on social media during the mob attack on Galle Face protesters on May 9 has been identified as ruggerite Sajith Saranga.
 
Senior Deputy Solicitor General Dilan Ratnayake appearing for the CID on Wednesday (15) informed Colombo Fort Magistrate that the investigations have revealed the suspect Sajith Saranga has left the country following the incident and thereby sought an order imposing travel restrictions on the suspect.
 
Magistrate Thilina Gamage issued an order imposing travel restrictions on the rugby player for the purpose of arresting him at the airport if he returned the country. 
Meanwhile, the CID named ruggerite Sajith Saranga as the 29th suspect in the Galle Face attack case currently being heard at Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court. Further magisterial inquiry fixed for June 22. (Lakmal Sooriyagoda)
