A P.R.C. machine that can detect many viruses including Covid-19 has been gifted to the Health Ministry by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday.
The USD 3,000 worth machine which was manufactured in Korea was handed over to Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi at the Prime Minister’s residence at Wijerama Mawatha.
The machine is able to detect viral infections in a short period of time. It is a small portable machine which was gifted to the Prime Minister as a personal gift.
However, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has decided to gift this machine to the Health Ministry as the ministry needed this machine in these difficult times when the whole world is fighting against Covid-19.
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Mr. W.D.J. Seneviratne and Mr. S.M. Chandrasena also graced this occasion. (Thisari Andria Walawege)
