It has been decided to provide fuel for the vehicles belonging to parliamentarians from the Narahenpita filling station upon payment made by cash.

A letter in this regard was issued by the Speaker to the Senior DIG yesterday.

Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said adequate fuel for the said fuel station closer to the Narahenpita police Transport Division will be issued by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) and it has been advised to deploy an official from the CPC to collect money.

The decision was taken to provide fuel for a short period of time until the scarcity comes to an end. Once the required fuel is dispensed to their respective vehicles, the Parliamentarians, who should be on board the vehicle, should settle the bill in cash.

A record should be maintained about the details of the respective Ministers' driver. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
