MINUSMA Force Commander compliments SL convoy in Mali

Force Commander in United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), Lieutenant General Dennis Gyllensporre called at the Sri Lankan Combat Convoy Company deployed in Mali and appreciated tasks being performed by the Sri Lankan Combat Convoy Company (LKACCC).

During a recent visit to the Headquarters Sector East by Lieutenant General Gyllensporre called on LKACCC Contingent Commander Lieutenant Colonel Srinath Gallage.

Further, the Force Commander said he was amazed to see how LKACCC executes its assigned task amidst deteriorating security situation and moving thorough areas where the enemy is ever intensifying its all efforts and activities indifferent forms to interfere with MINUSMA realizing its mission.

In addition, he highlighted that he is surprised in what manner LKACCC executed and accomplished its Convoy Escort Operations with no harm and securing the lives of the civilians and vehicles including UN consignments.

To conclude, he insisted that, he as a Force Commander, is delighted with the professionalism and disciplines at all aspects being maintained and also the performances of the Sri Lanka Army in the Tour of Duty in the MINUSMA. The session went on for almost one hour exchanging many views and ended up with presenting a memento to the Force Commander.
