Four persons including a Lt. Colonel, a Sergeant and a Corporal of the Army and a Buddhist monk have been arrested by the STF while scanning the ground for buried archaeological treasures using high-tech equipment at Mawadiodai in Karadiyanaru.
Police said an STF team of the Vavunathivu camp conducted the raid yesterday. An Army cab was also taken into custody along with the suspects.
The arrested suspects aged between 28 and 52 were handed over to the Karadianaru police station for further investigations.
