At least eight commuters were injured when a lorry collided with a train travelling to Galle at Peter's Lane, Dehiwela this afternoon, police said.
They said those injured were allegedly travelling on the footboard. The mishap had occurred when the lorry was reversed to the direction of the railway track.
The injured were admitted to the Colombo-South Teaching Hospital. Further investigations are being carried out by the Dehiwala Police. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
