Claiming that the local and foreign forces were trying to topple the government and prevent its journey, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa today requested people to have faith in him and assured to fully implement the government's national policy framework “Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour” within the next three years.

Addressing a public rally organized by the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna in Anuradhapura today, he said policies of the government are aimed at the well-being of future generations and emphasized that he would continue to move forward despite obstacles.

The President said he was committed to increasing the income of the farming community by 100 percent and to protecting the country and the people despite the challenges, as pledged in the “Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour”.

The President also said public servants were resorting to strikes due to the influence of various political forces and requested them to think about the people and not the government at this critical juncture.

"Public officials have a responsibility not towards the government but to serve the people and the country," he said.
