A four-and-a-half month old female lion cub named 'Dora' has been set for public viewing at the Ridiyagama Safari Park tomorrow, National Zoological Gardens Department Director General Shermila Rajapaksha said.

She is the fourth cub to have born at Ridiyagama. The lioness (cub's mother) abandoned the cub soon after she was born, she said.

"The Safari Park employees are tasked with caring for her and raising her under 24-hour surveillance. She is consuming milk and meat and is growing well, "Rajapaksha said.

"She is very playful and will be out for first public viewing tomorrow. People can see her from 9.00 am to 10.30 am and from 3.30 pm to 5.00 pm," she said.

"We are unable to set her free the whole day for public viewing, since she is only four- and-a-half months old," Therefore, the Safari Park management decided to arrange the cub for  public viewing twice a day," she added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
