The Elections Commission will file a special motion before the Supreme Court citing difficulties such as inadequate funds to hold the Local Government Elections on March 9, the Chairman of the Elections Commission said.
Some of the other reasons given by the Elections Commission include the inability to print the required ballot papers by the government printers and the inadequate fuel supply for transport.
Government sources told Daily Mirror that the LG Polls is likely to be postponed and not go ahead as scheduled next month due to the lack of funds. (Jamila Husain)
