Key decisions on new party led by MR finalised

The final discussion on forming a new political party, which would be led by former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, was reportedly held at his residence at Mirihana last night, political sources said.

Accordingly, a large number of former ministers, MPs from the joint Opposition had taken part at the discussion. During the discussion, it the party’s name, symbol, office bearers and address of the new political party had reportedly been finalized.

It was unanimously decided to appoint former President Rajapaksa as the leader of the new party, which is to be registered within the next two weeks, it is leanrt.
