The Railway Department closed the Kandana sub railway station until it is disinfected and certified, Sri Lanka Railways Station Masters' Union (SLRSMU) said.

They said the decision was taken after the rapid antigen test performed on the station master proved positive.

However, the station is open for commuters and arrangements made to obtain credentials has been temporarily granted by both stations, they said.

Arrangements have been made to stop the train at the station as per the normal train schedule, the SLRSMU said. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
