Considering the rapid spreading of COVID in the Western and Southern Provinces, issuing of vehicle revenue licences in the above provinces have been suspended, the Government Information Department said.
Department's Director General Mohan Samaranayake said issuing vehicle revenue licences in the WP will be suspended from tomorrow (12) till May 28 while the similar practice in SP will also be suspended till June 16 from May 17.
No penalty will be levied for re-issuing vehicle revenue licences during the period of suspension of services.
However, people who wish to obtain revenue licences can do so through online. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
