There is a new trend of increasing use of synthetic drugs known as "ICE" (methamphetamine crystals) among schoolchildren, the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB) said.

A senior NDDCB official said that parents should pay more attention to the activities of their children.

It was reported that the use of ICE, heroin, and tobacco related products had become a trend among schoolchildren.

It had become a trend of using certain medications tablets that use as psychotropic drugs.

He stated that what the students used to accept will not be gained through the use of the aforementioned drugs.

The majority of them claimed that the ICE isotope would help them stay awake.Getting enough sleep is a little depressing. If they use ICE, they might need another three days of sleep to relax the brain and body.

He further mentioned that nothing will get solved with the use of drugs, but it will help to increase the existing issues and create new ones. (Chaturanga Pradeep Samarawickrama)
