H.M.D.B. Herath’s name was gazetted by the Elections Commission notifying that he would fill the vacancy created in parliament for the Kurunegala District with the demise of MP Salinda Dissanayake.
Mr. Herath was next in the list after MP Shantha Bandara who was appointed as a national list MP but later resigned from the post so that he could fill the vacancy created by Mr. Dissanayake. (Yohan Perera)
