The Meteorology Department today warned of thundershowers exceeding 100 mm accompanied by severe lightning at several places in Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa and North-western provinces in the evening or night.
It also said thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning could be expected in Galle, Matara, Anuradhapura and Mannar districts as well.
“Strong gusty winds up to 70-80 kmph are also possible during thundershowers,” it said.
