Civil Society and Trade Unions' Collective Convener Saman Rathnapriya yesterday said the government should unload the three cranes procured from China for the East Container Terminal (ECT) development project and start work immediately without making more financial losses.

He said the three cranes which were procured from China for the development project were still in the container vessels without being unloaded at the port and this delay in unloading was causing a loss of about 50,000 USD per day. The process has already been delayed for five days. (Thisari Walawege)
