Govt. approves streamlining duties of Traffic Police division

Following the weekly cabinet briefing, the Government had approved streamlining the duties of Traffic Police and Road Safety Division using digitized solutions.

The decision was taken to focus on giving priority to reduce existing traffic congestion in urban areas.

The Cabinet spokesman said the Police is a leading body empowered to ensure the safety and security of the public and to maintain law and order.

The Police also provide multiple services to people across the country, the spokesman said.

During the meeting, recommendations have been made that police department need to be modernized by changing the existing traditional methods.

Accordingly, the Cabinet Ministers had approved the proposal presented by the Public Security Minister to appoint a steering committee to design a project to monitor and implement the overall modernization of the police department, prioritizing the streamlining of the Police Traffic and Road Safety Division.
