Gmail down globally, users unable to send emails with attachment

Gmail down for several users. The email service is not working globally. Users are complaining that they are unable to send across emails and attach files to emails. We tried to send an email with attachment and Gmail showed error. It has been over an hour that people across the world are facing this issue.

Google apps status page has also updated to confirm that they’ve received reports of issues related to Gmail. Users have taken to Twitter and DownDetector website to talk about the issues and highlight the problems they are facing with Google’s services, especially Gmail, used by millions of users worldwide.

Commenting on the issue, Google noted, “We’re investigating reports of an issue with Gmail. We will provide more information shortly.”

Most users are complaining that they are unable to send mails or attach any sorts of files to the emails. We tried sending an email with attachment but it didn’t work. The mail was sent but not the attachment. The error showed “the operation couldn’t be completed”.

Users are also complaining about issues connecting to some of the G suite services like Google Drive, Google Doc. But most users are facing issues with Gmail.

DownDetector shows that the problem began around 11am IST.

AT indianexpress.com we tried uploading filed to Drive but failed. Google Drive is reportedly unable to share files or upload and download them.
