Four more succumb to Covid-19

The Covid-19 death toll in the country climbed to 94 with four more deaths being reported today, the Government Information Department said.

It said three males aged 74, 54, 42 and a female aged 73 are among the deceased.

The details of the victims are as follows,

1. A 74-year-old male from Ginigathhena was pronounced dead at the Ragama Teaching Hospital after being transferred from the Prison Hospital on November 22. The cause of death was ruled as multiple organ failure due to Covid-19 infection.

2. A 54-year-old male, a resident the South Siyambalape area succumbed to the virus at the National Hospital in Colombo on November 22. The cause of death was identified as chronic kidney disease exacerbated by Covid-19.

3. A 73-year-old female from Colombo 15, who was identified as a Covid-19 patient was transferred from the National Hospital in Colombo to the Homagama Base Hospital where she passed away on November 24. The cause of death was ruled as a stroke and Covid-19 pneumonia.

4. A 42-year-old male from Atalugama, Bandaragama died at the IDH after being transferred from the Panadura Base Hospital on November 24. The cause of death was identified as chronic liver disease exacerbated by Covid-19. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
