Former Maldives President and Speaker of Parliament, Mohammed Nasheed as been appointed by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to coordinate the relief efforts for Sri Lanka, globally after discussions were held between Nasheed and Wickremesinghe in Colombo today.
The Prime Minister's Office said that during the discussions, Nasheed had generously offered to assist Sri Lanka in securing relief for the country from foreign nations. The Prime Minister accepted the former President's offer and appointed him to coordinate the relief efforts.
