Five more areas in Colombo to be isolated; isolation in several areas to continue

Maradana, Fort, Pettah, Slave Island and .Dam Street in the Colombo District will also be isolated from 5.00 am on Monday (November 16), Army Commander Shavendra Silva said.

He said those areas will be isolated in addition to the 12 police divisions (Mattakkuliya, Modara, Bloemendhal, Kotahena, Grandpass, Foreshore, Barber Street, Maligawatte, Dematagoda, Wellampitiya, Keselwatte and Borella) currently designated as isolated areas in the Colombo District,

He also said isolation will continue in Negombo, Ja-Ela, Ragama, Kadawatha, Wattala, Paliyagoda & Kalaniya.

"However, isolation will be lifted in the rest of the Police areas in the Gampaha District and in all other districts from 5am tomorrow (November 15)," the Army Commander added.

Accordingly, isolation status in Horana and Ingiriya in the Kalutara District, Mawanella and Ruwanwella in the Kegalle District, Kuliyapitiya and the Kurunegala Town in the Kurunegala will be removed.
