Five cops injured in accident

Five police officers attached to the Badulla police station were hospitalized after a car they were travelling from Wellawaya to Badulla crashed into a jack tree at Pinarawa in Badulla on the Badulla-Bandarawela main Road early this morning.

Police said an Inspector, three Sub Inspectors and a police constable who were on their way from a funeral in Wellawaya had met with the accident. The injured were admitted to the Badulla Hospital. (Palitha Ariyawansa)
