Colombo, April 23 (Daily Mirror) - The Finance Ministry has urged the public to exercise vigilance when purchasing vehicles as numerous vehicles have been imported into Sri Lanka through various illegal methods from 2015 to 2022.

State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said the Fraud and Corruption Investigation Commission has seized 112 vehicles imported into Sri Lanka through illicit channels, with a total value exceeding Rs 7,000 million.

"Between 2015 and 2022, these vehicles were unlawfully brought into Sri Lanka through various means. These vehicles are to be confiscated from their current owners. It is the responsibility of the buying parties to find out whether the vehicles have been imported through proper methods," the State Minister said.
