FR petition on Aranthalawa Bhikkhu massacre fixed for support

A Fundamental Rights petition filed by a Buddhist monk who sustained critical injuries following the Aranthalawa Bhikkhu massacre was today fixed for support on November 12 by Supreme Court.

Senior State Counsel  who appeared on behalf of the Attorney General (AG) sought further time stating that AG just (today) received instructions from police.

Three-judge-bench headed by Chief Justice Jayantha Jayasuriya directed the respondents to file limited objections before September 30.

The petitioner Andaulpatha Buddhasara Thera is seeking seeking an order to prosecute any living terrorist involved in the massacre.

Andaulpatha Buddhasara Thera filed this petition naming Acting IGP, State Intelligence Director andthe  Attorney General  as respondents.
