Nine suspects including an officer of the Department of Excise had been arrested with 125 grams of Ice also known as Crystal Methamphetamine drug near the Puttalam lagoon early this morning, the Police said.
The suspects were arrested during a raid carried out by the officers of the Puttalam Division Crimes Unit with the assistance of intelligence services of the Air Force.
Another Excise Officer involved in the drug deal had fled the scene and the Police are investigating to arrest him.(Hiran Priyankara)
