Four inmates who were under quarantine at the Bogambara Old Prison were captured by the prison officials while they were attempting to escape last midnight.
The prison officials had fired shots in the air to capture them inside the prison premises.
One inmate died while two inmates and two Prison Officers were injured when some inmates attempted to escape on an earlier occasion. (Chamil Rupasinghe)
