Eastern Province (EP) Governor Anuradha Yahampath paid an early visit to several villages along the northern coast of Trincomalee to look into the arrangements made if the cyclone ‘Buravi’ hits the area.

Accordingly, the Governor visited Sirimapura and Thirukkadalur villages on the Northern coastal road to inspect the arrangements made for the people in those villages.

This is the first time a Governor has visited the area to inquire for this purpose before such a catastrophe occurred, EP Governor office said.
The Governor personally visited the houses in the area and advised the people to move to safe locations by evening which have been arranged by the Eastern Province Council.

She also mentioned that necessary financial allocations had been made to provide relief for the people in a case of any disaster due to the cyclone. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
