Matale Mayor Daljith Aluwihare, who was arrested for allegedly assaulting a UNP Councillor, was released on bail by the Matale Additional Magistrate Indika Attanayake this afternoon.
He was released on two sureties of Rs.100,000 each. Meanwhile, Mayor's driver Puwan Kumara was also released on two sureties of Rs. 100,000 each. (Mahesh Keerathirathne)
