Former Wanni District Deputy Inspector General of Police Dammika Priyantha has been appointed in charge of the Kalutara District. He assumed duties at his Kalutara office last morning.
Reputed to be an expert detective in the areas of financial crimes and money laundering, DIG Priyantha had served as a Deputy Director at the Criminal Investigation Department and as the Director of Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division.
A Bachelor of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, DIG Priyantha obtained his Masters in Criminology from the same university.
He had also taken part in various international forums on money laundering and terrorism funding, as an expert officer representing Sri Lanka. (K.K.K.)
