The detection was based on information received from the BIA Customs Unit.

He is a resident of the Slave Island area in Colombo 2.
According to the information, the Customs officers had boarded the aircraft and arrested him.
The gold gel capsules were found in a parcel belonging to the suspect in his hand luggage.
The Customs officers found the 16 gold gel capsules weighing 6 kg, 423 grams, and 9 milligrams hidden in 16 pods in this hand luggage.
The gold gel capsules were handed over to the government analyst for a report. The Customs officers have taken steps to conduct a special investigation in connection with his mobile phone.
Until the report is received by the Customs officials, arrangements were made to produce the suspect before the Negombo Magistrate.
