The father of the Covid-19 patient found from the Marawila Hospital has tested negative for the virus, Regional Director of Health Services of Puttalam district Dr. Dinusha Fernando said.

A female counselor, a resident of Nattandiya, attached to the Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre tested positive for the virus yesterday.

Accordingly, the close associates of the woman were subjected to PCR tests.

However, since there was an issue with the PCR test report of her mother, she was again subjected to another PCR test.

It was found yesterday that the woman, who tested positive for the virus, had gone to a tailor shop and a house and the people in the tailor shop and the house were also subjected to PCR tests.

The results of those tests are yet to come.

At least, 45 people of 10 families, who have maintained links with the woman, have been sent to self-quarantine process. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
