Colombo Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake issued an order directing the Thimbirigasyaya Divisional Secretary to bury the remains of suicide bomber Mohammed Mubarak, who blew himself up at the Kingsbury Hotel, at the Borella Cemetery.

Accordingly, the Magistrate had ordered to bury the remains of the heads of Mohamed Azam Mohammed Mubarak alias 'Abdullah', the Kingsbury Hotel suicide bomber and Cinnamon Grand suicide bomber Mohamed Ibrahim Inshaf Ahmed at the Borella Cemetery.

The order was given following a request made by the CID claiming that the investigations relating to the remains of the Easter Sunday bombers had completed.

The relatives had refused to bury the remains and they told the CID to bury them at government expenses as it could result in a disturbing situation in their society. (Nimanthi Ranasinghe)
