Relating to his complaint that Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa had reportedly entered two polling stations in Nikaweratiya and Kobeigane, Permanent Representative of Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Keerthi Tennakoon said the problem was now sorted.

Tennakoon lodged a complaint to the polling centre at Nikaweratiya yesterday calling for re-polling at the two polling stations considering the said incident.

However, it was later realised that the intention of the visit of the Premier to the area was random.

Rajapaksa is reported to have entered the two polling stations with over 100 supporters during active polling time yesterday.

Meanwhile, Minister of Ports and Highways Johnston Fernando said the Prime Minister only visited the polling centres to inspect the development work and people gathered around to meet him.

“This gathering only created a traffic jam,” he added.
