Colombo-Badulla bound night mail train was cancelled today due to two train derailments reported along the mainline, the Railways Control Room said.
They said a goods train carrying fuel wagon from Kandy to Badulla had derailed at the 138-milepost in between Ambewela and Pattipola Stations.
Meanwhile, another goods train was derailed near the Hatton Railway Station this evening.
Steps are being taken to restore the train services along the mainline. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama and Ranjith Rajapaksa)
