A close associate of notorious drug kingpin “Makandure Madush' had been arrested in possession of heroin in Keselwatta.
Police said the 49-year-old suspect was arrested with 2.3 grams of heroin.
The suspect was identified as a resident of Mirania Street, Colombo 12.
Madush and several Sri Lakans including underworld criminals identified as Keselwatte Dinuka and Kachcipani Imran were arrested, at a party thrown by Madush at a five star hotel in Dubai, during a joint raid carried out by Dubai law enforcement authorities on February 4, 2019.
Madush was later deported to Sri Lanka and was taken into custody by the CID.
Investigation revealed that the arrested suspect was also an attendee at the Madush party.
